“Extracting information from websites, otherwise known as web scraping, has been around for many years. However, we believe using MessageFocus' suite of on-demand advanced features alongside our new tool will provide the most powerful and flexible application of web scraping on the market... We are able to pull simple updates such as blogs and news alerts to more comprehensive articles and product information. By streamlining the process of updating emails by automatically uploading website content, marketers can save thousands of pounds of wasted resource and effort, safe in the knowledge that their email content is fresh and market intelligence is utilised properly.”

There is a growing urgency for marketers to monitor their email marketing campaign results and they should be reassured that more advanced and sophisticated methods to track online behaviour are now available. With such complex web analysis so easily available it is little surprise marketers can generate a substantial increase to their revenue. We are delighted with the development of our software that has streamlined the process, enabling marketers to easily access the web analytics packages, without having to invest in costly and time consuming conversion packages.

Link to Text Version:

There is now a simple function, within MessageFocus, which allows you to add a link that allows a user to read your email on their Mobile Device.

This is particularly useful if their Mobile Device is not set to accept HTML email.

On the subject of reactivation campaigns, I just recieved an email from the National Lottery informing me that I hadn't played online with them for sometime.

With a different subject line using personalisation,... "Come back online and give us another go, Jonathon", to their usual emails (which I generally delete), it made me actually open and read the email.

The copy was telling me about new features since I last played online rather than displaying inviting calls to action but non the less, did make me think about playing online again. With a stronger offer, I'm sure I would have interacted with the email and then the website, there and then.

After thinking on this I thought "best to put a line on" just in case!

Struck me as a good example how to segment and target properly, while taking the time to analyse what my previous behavior has been.

I quite agree Reena. I guess the real issue here is that if someone wants to either unsubscribe from or 'mark as spam' your email, they are obviously not wanting to hear from you. Therefore, what is the point of having them on your list in the first place?

A smaller, cleaner, and responsive list is better for everyone!

One thing to bear in mind when incentivising sign up is the quality of data.

Remember it’s better to have good quality data in lower volumes than a large volume of non responsive data.

If you do incentivise sign up ensure you track it properly - this way you know when the recipients signed up and what the offer was. You can also see if they were truly interested in receiving your communication or whether they just wanted the free gift you were offering.

The most common elements being tested by Adestra clients include:

1. Action words: using verbs to instruct an action e.g. ‘Download your report now’
2. Deadlines: using a date upon which an offer will end
3. Personalisation: including the recipient’s name in the subject line
4. Promotion or product: leading with a campaign (e.g. summer sale) or product (Barbeques)
5. Occasion: associating the email with a date in the calendar- e.g. the weekend, bank holiday, Monday morning blues etc”

This is definitely something for you to test.
